Lausanne, Switzerland, October 17, 2017 - Holding both men's and women's competitions, the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) has fully launched a new season of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour with the men’s second event and the women’s season-opener. Last week, the 2018 FIVB World Tour held a double-gender event in Qinzhou, China.

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 16, 2017 - With all the drama of the South American qualifiers this past weekend in Arequipa and the last ticket awarded to Argentina, the lineup of 24 teams to compete for the ultimate trophy in world volleyball is now complete with the conclusion of the qualifying process for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship which will be held in Japan 29 September - 20 October next year.

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 16, 2017 - The Dominican Republic and Mexico topped the two groups of the North & Central America and Caribbean qualifiers for the 2018 FIVB Women's World Championship, where they are joined by Puerto Rico and Trinidad & Tobago as the four tickets up for grabs had been already decided with a day to spare in the two round-robin tournaments.
  6. Lausanne, Switzerland, October 14, 2017 – Cameroon delighted their home fans when they won their maiden African Women’s Championship title on Saturday with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 29-27) victory over Kenya at the Palais des Sports in Yaounde.

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 15, 2017 - All four tickets up for grabs this weekend at the North & Central America and Caribbean (NORCECA) qualifiers for the 2018 FIVB Women's World Championship were punched with a day to spare as the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico made Japan 2018.
  8. Qinzhou, China, October 15, 2017 – Russia’s 15th seeds Maxim Sivolap/Igor Velichko rallied past Mexico’s fourth seeds Juan Virgen/Lombardo Ontiveros in a three-set thriller on Sunday morning to capture their first FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour title at the Qinzhou Open.
  9. Qinzhou, China, October 15, 2017 – Australian fifth seeds Mariafe Artacho and Taliqua Clancy crushed Polish dark horses Kinga Kolosinska and Katarzyna Kociolek in straight sets here Sunday morning to claim their first FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour title at the Qinzhou Open.
  10. Lausanne, Switzerland, October 15, 2017 – Argentina placed themselves well within reach of last South American spot at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in 2018 after mastering a second straight-setter at the qualification tournament in Arequipa, Peru.
